Napa

Just got back from a quick work trip to Napa. We stayed a cute bed and breakfast called La Belle Epoque. We never had a chance to try the breakfast since our call was so early but we did enjoy a little wine reception when we first arrived.

Work itself was pretty average. Hanging outside the courthouse to shoot characters and then some shooting inside the courtroom.

The highlight of this trip was the food. Dinner was at Celadon where I had a white bean tortilla sup, fried calamari with ginger and a duck/date salad. Mark had a salad and an excellent seafood pasta. Wine was a cab from Black Coyote that I cannot find anywhere on this coast. I did find it in NY but shippng would be crazy$.

After the shoot we were to meet the producer at Bistro Don Giovanni for lunch just outside of town. We were 45 minues early and we sat at the bar to finally have our breakfast. Ahh-pizza margherita and a glass of Scala's cabernet. Now that is civilized!
Lunch to follow was a beet and haricot vert salad and pappardelle with a porcini-sausage ragou. Mark had Linguine and clams with a side of spinach.

After lunch we went back to town to buy some wine. The wine shop we wanted to go to was closed but we did find a smaller place and bought 4 bottles. I thought that the grocery store would have a nice selection-not so much. At least there was a target and home depot in the same mall to run some errands.

Here's a photo of the flight back.
